All of the dog products we carry at Alpha K9 U are proudly sourced, produced or handcrafted in the U.S.A.

The leather products are handcrafted from selected quality hides, which are tanned using natural vegetable extracts. This type of tanning produces better quality leather than chrome tanning. It is also 100% environmentally safe. The result is leather that feels looks and performs better than any we have ever used!

Why Leather?

We prefer Leather Leashes because leather is easier to grip and is easy on the handlers hands. Leather doesn't compress and change shapes, and have very little give when the dog pulls, as an example. Cotton leashes easily stretches when force is applied, which gives the handler less control over the dog. Nylon leashes slip and the handler exerts more pressure on the hand muscles using a nylon leash or other synthetic materials.
We prefer Leather Collars because it won't pull on a dog's neck like canvas, nylon or other synthetic material when working with a dog. Leather has a different kind of friction. Leather doesn't spin on a dog the same as nylon. Doesn't tangle. Moves better on the dogs neck when cornering.

Braided-End Patrol Dog Leashes

We utilize these great Matts at Alpha K9 U for our canine friends staying at our Residential Hall and for training exercises such as the “place” command.
