All of the dog products we carry at Alpha K9 U are proudly sourced, produced or handcrafted in the U.S.A.

The leather products are handcrafted from selected quality hides, which are tanned using natural vegetable extracts. This tanning produces better quality leather than chrome and is 100% environmentally safe. The result is leather that feels, looks,​ and performs better than any we have ever used!

Why Leather?

We prefer Leather Leashes because they are easier to grip and are easy on the handlers' hands. Leather doesn't compress and change shape; it has very little give when the dog pulls, for example. Cotton leashes easily stretch when force is applied, which gives the handler less control over the dog. Nylon leashes slip, and the handler exerts more pressure on the hand muscles using a nylon leash or other synthetic materials.
We prefer Leather Collars because they won't pull on a dog's neck like canvas, nylon, or other synthetic materials when working with a dog. Leather has a different kind of friction. Leather doesn't spin on a dog the same as nylon. It doesn't tangle. It moves better on the dog's​ neck when cornering.

Braided-End Patrol Dog Leashes

Cotton-Web Training Lines (i.e., Drag Lines)

We utilize these great Matts at Alpha K9 U for our canine friends staying at our Residential Hall and for training exercises such as the “place” command.
